Electronic Ignition and Carb Rebuild

Postby arlen » Fri Jan 22, 2021 2:03 pm

I'm going to be doing an engine rebuild on my 1944 B. I figured I better rebuild the carb too, but not sure if I want to fuss with it. It is a TSX-157.
Can any of you make a recommendation of a place to send it out to get rebuilt? Is there a source for the short boot that goes from the air cleaner to the carb?
Also, this tractor was converted to 12 volts years ago via a Delco alternator (not self excited). Since all of the ignition components are in need of replacement anyway, I thought I would convert it to electronic ignition. Are there any recommendations for that, or pros cons for electronic? I would probably get rid of the 6v coil and external resistor also.
