Radiator cap

Postby Tractor Rod » Sun Feb 14, 2021 8:05 pm

:help:

I am getting ready to order a radiator cap for my 1947B and it might be a silly question but how do I know if it is a pressured or non-pressurized cab?

As I looked on the Internet to buy one I ran into the question of pressure or non-pressurized.

Thanks.

TM Tractors (site sponsor with link below) has the non-pressure cap, which your tractor should have. It has no spring...very simple cap:

Here is what the pressure caps look like:

Ignore Dale. She gave a Cub answer. :(

No B came from the factory with a pressure cap. In the off chance that somebody has installed a radiator with a pressure system type neck, test fit your gas cap on the radiator. The gas cap would fit the original non-pressure system. The top end of the overflow tube is below the cap.

Jim,
Are you sure you want to put the gas cap on the radiator?

What I'm trying to say is to test fit the gas cap on the radiator. If it will physically fit the filler neck, the original style radiator cap will fit. I didn't say to leave it there.

But the gas cap would not fit a pressure system type neck. Thanks Jim, I understood what was meant.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.
