My hunt for a decent F-12 resulted in failure. So, I opted for a 1938 F-14 that is in really good shape. It's got the usual problems associated with a 80 year old tractor that didn't see much preventive maintenance; a lot of flaky rust in gas tank, fuel pump that was gummed up, air breather that had water instead of oil in it... But on the plus side, other than having a hood for a F-20/30 the rest of the machine is in good shape.
I am really disappointed in the manuals that's available for the F-series tractors. Nothing like the manuals for the Cub.
Anybody with any pearls of wisdom that they would like to share with me, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Larry

I think IH got better at placing more details in their manuals at each model make over. I do think, though, that all their manuals aren't as detailed nor informative as Deere's are. I have both brands and have manuals for them also, and Deere's seem to be a lot more detailed.

Guess I'll have to work with what I have.
New subject, in researching which overhaul kit to buy for the fuel pump, they mention "caged " and "uncaged", got any idea what they are referring to?
