Timing the Kohler k series.
What a pain it is to time the k series Kohler engine. I wish they had a hole in the flywheel to insert the solid part of a drill through a boss in the plate. To set the static timing. What a pain it is to set the timing. Maybe a timing light is the answer?
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

A cheap multimeter or 12v test light should work.

Re: Timing the Kohler k series.
I've had to take a dowel with sand paper on the end and polish up the flywheel to find the timing marks.
Once located, paint the timing marks and place a drop of paint on the front PTO cover at 12 O'clock.

I have an excuse. CRS.

I heard the exhaust being much louder, I retarded the timing and hit it right spot on. Bingo she’s quiet now and sounds great.
