The M&W Gear Company of Gibson City, IL, made the gear reduction unit only for the Original as I already said. The speed ranges were: direct drive, under drive, and over drive. The tractor has 9 speeds forward at this point, and 3 speeds at reverse.
The Original was now up to a wopping 10.8 miles pre hour top speed! Your steering box and tir rod ends, and drag link were to be in top-notch mechanical condition. Also the tractor was now 4 inches longer. After the Original was no longer made, M&W did not make any other gear reductions for IHCC .
I'm sorry I'm still somewhat of a rookie to this website and the tractor world, what is the difference between direct, under, and over drive?
