Picked up a modified 42” blade with 4” extensions on each end on Saturday. It’s hydraulically activated. Was on a CC 1782 super, so the PO had extended the arms, which I removed.
Got it mounted and started the 782 to find it works as it should. Will be using this instead of my 1947 Farmall Cub to do the driveway. Will see how it does.

Those are V61’s on the front and rear tires from Golf Cart Warehouse on the rear; aggressive tread.

Is that a power angle blade? I've used a manual tilt on my 1450 for years and love it.
Also have a 36" and 42" Snowblower, one on a 1650 and one on an 1811. Always good to have options!

That's a good looking outfit you've got there. I'm assuming weights and chains are a must. What have you got for ballast?

I'm interested to hear how those tires do pushing snow, I've got an extra set of rims that would be nice to leave set up with weights for winter plowing. I'd like to stop using chains on the concrete drive

Sorry, I missed your responses until now. Yes, that's a hydraulic angled blade. Been (kinda) looking for one to fit my 782 for the last couple years; it already had the front hydraulic connections when I bought it. I replaced all the hoses when I fixed it up and had been waiting for a suitable blade on the west side of the Mississippi--seems like most I saw were in OH, PA, NY, etc. or way up north. They don't come up for sale very often in MO. Have never used a blade on a garden tractor before, so will be a whole new learning curve.

I've got rear wheel weights off my '48 Cub, but that's it. Am currently planning to use this for any 2"-4" snows, and the its big brother, my '48 Cub for 4" and deeper. Hoping I don't need to fill the tires or add weight to the rear. We'll see. I'm assuming from your comment that you believe I'll need to...

I'll try to let y'all know how I fair. So far, I've really liked these rear tires for mowing. The plan is that IF it works well this winter, then over the spring-summer next year I'll tear it down and refinish the blade.

Momentum will be your friend, but keep it slow. Make sure the trip-lock is unlocked so if you catch anything the blade will spring trip instead. I've primarily used the snowplow on my CC for about 10 years, and the snow-blower only when there are several inches of snow to move in one shot.

Much more nimble than a Cub in close quarters. When I lived in a subdivision with a sidewalk it was the right size to clear it in one pass.
