electric pto 2072 m20

Postby jh60 » Mon Apr 11, 2022 1:35 pm

I've been trying to find a new bearing for the electric pto on a 2072 with m20 engine. No luck at NAPA. Farmall dealer wasn't much help. I searched the forum, no luck. If anyone knows what the part number is it would be helpful.

A 2072 is a mtd made machine! Doubtful a IH dealer wants the bother

Try your local cub cadet dealer!

Or Try one of these guys.

https://w-t-p.com

Tell them Sam from Cortland OH sent you!

Most bearings have a number etched on them on one side.

If you found the number on the bearing, then you would want to go to a place like Bearings inc, or BSC!

Beware the cub cadet dealer. If they are anything like our local cub cadet dealer their prices are set for lawyers and doctors

Are you talking about the bearing in the center of the armature? It looks like Cub Cadet only carried the bearing along with the armature. You probably will need to drive it out and inspect it for a number.
You may have to get the dimensions and see if a bearing house can find a replacement.

Here is a thread on a Cub Cadet site with the same question. A link in this thread goes to another thread that discusses the same.

They both mention 6206.

Sam, thanks. was aware that the tractor is MTD. gonna search for a local cub dealer. There aren't any numbers etched or stamped on the bearing that's the reason for the help request. Thanks for the leads.
Jim, thanks. Its the bearing right at the belt pulley. I searched a couple sites yesterday (mcmaster-carr, timkin) wasn't able to match the dimensions with anything that they had listed. Thanks for the leads. gonna check it out.

What are the Deminsions of your bearing? The 6206 measures 30 x 62 x 16mm. 6206 is an industry standard bearing number and is readily available and inexpensive.

I think we are all talking about the same bearing. It is in the middle of reference 3 in this diagram.
