I might have to make my own hi-lift blades for this one ---- did that to dad's 112 deere blades and they said it would never work but he mowed for years with them, so it worked on them. Never had any vibrations in them after mods either.

Ya this one is probably newer than 1981, so MTD it is. Gonna have to have a BUNCH of re-building and re-designing done on it. got that stupid mower clutch to stay runin when I back up! LOL!! --I know it was put on to protect us from ourselves! lol!-- BUT it was hard on the clutch/wiring/switches/etc. AND totally not needed! Simplicity stays runnin! Now so does this one!
still lookin at mods. and maybe by next year mowing season I can get it to work and actually cut grass.

Are the pully centers the same offsets to the groove? If not maybe they're installed upside down. Or maybe they have a washer/spacer installed on the wrong side.

got a pic from the back looking down the line. you can see the step the belt has to make! Belts will NEVER run long like this!!!

Wonder if it even has the right clutch on it? pulley should be down about 2" lower then it would be more in line with the deck pulley.
