I installed a factory style "3-pt" lift and a Brinly sleeve hitch on the 782, but not without some adventure. Keep in mind that although the 782 falls into the "Wide Frame" catagory the lift system is different. The lift bar is thinner and straight, not wide and angled (see pic 1). If you search the Internet you will find two different lift bar connections illustrated for the 782. Some will show a lift pin attachment (pic 2) and some will not (pic 3). IH made a production change at serial number 678913, units prior did not use the attachment while units after did. At that serial number the pin through the rockshaft and hydraulic cylinder shaft was increased to .5 inch (pic 4) creating interference between the head of the pin and the front end of the lift bar. To eliminate that interference problem the attachment was used to be installed from the inside leaving no head exposed thereby eliminating the interference.
Now here's where the trouble starts, many lift bars and especially repro bars have more metal beyond the front hole because they are made for the later design (pic 5) but what if you have the earlier design? Well, it won't clear the early pin, it'll hit it before the holes line up (pic 6). The answer is to cut the leading end of the bar back so it clears (pic 7).
And now you can hang your hitch on (pic 8 ).

Finally had some good weather so I raked the driveway today. Worked great.
