Hey Gilles, 5 Cadets in a covey in GA. "UPDATE" NO
Gilles, just received my latest GA Market & Consumer Bulletin. Lo and behold, about 40 miles south of me, a man has 5 (NICE), his words, Cadets for sale. Guess it would be out of the question to try to arrange a Cub express from south of Atlanta to Canada, huh? If you are interested, I can check them out for you and send you the guys phone number so that you can speak with him, let me know, Pete

First I think the early cub cadets are the most sought after by collectors thats the "Orginal", the 70 & 100 cub cadets.
Gilles; It can get addicting too and I hate to pass up any cub cadet, int154 cubs and farmall's now too. I like the little guys a tad more.
I have a 70 with a replacement 8hp kolher its my favorite cadet so far. I have the larger tires and a snowplow on it right now.
My 100 with the creeper is a great puller but my tiller is going on it soon.
Right now my 122 & 108 have the 42" mowers on it.
I would like to add a small FEL on a cub cadet as well as my int154 cub too. The little cadet can get into the tighter areas with the bucket.
I'm trying to setup each tractor with a purpose by having the attachments/tractors ready to work when needed. As i get older i'm afraid i won't beable to change out attachments so by having enough tractors I won't have to do it.
My wish list on cadets is; CC129 & CC149 & CC169

I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

Hey Gilles, 5 Cadets in a covey in GA. "UPDATE"
Gilles, I just got off the phone with the gentleman that owns the Cadets. Very nice speaking man it seems. He has worked on the Cadets for about 35 years or better and now his eyesight is failing and he says he doesn't want to quit tinkering with them but has no choice. Actually there are 6 Cadets in all and here they are:
2-1450's w/ hydrostatic drive and hydraulic lifts
1- 128
2- 108's
1- 124 that has a locked up starter
He also has a lot of small equipment that he will let go, and parts etc. Has harrows, turning plows, cultivators, 2 sets of wheel weights and some more stuff.
He says all of them are running good, even the 124 until the starter locked up. Don't remember how many decks goes with them, but if you are interested in the package I will go down and do a complete inventory of everything. He says the first $2000. US dollars will take it all.
What do you think? By the way, he says none of them are beat up or rusted out, would just have to see them to verify. Pete

Pete,
Thanks a million for all your trouble, it's really appreciated.
What i'm interested in is the 108 any 70's, and of if he has any originals.
What you have to get are serial no's. As far as the inventory is concern,
that would be to complicated. I do not need any equipment, like plows,
mower decks etc...Just the tractors. It's up to you if you want to go and
see the tractors he has. Thanks again Gilles

Pete,
If the guy has worked with cadets for 35 years, he definately knows.
But to help you, the narrow frames, if you're standing in the rear of the tractor, it will be on your right, on the transmission casting. They are punched in the casting.
You will see a 1" square on the casting the s/n is close to that.
On the wide frames, there will be a black tag that says s/n on frame rails.
Hope that helps. Thanks again. Gilles

Gilles, that will help. I've got a feeling that the gentleman doesn't know or care much for restoring like we do. I asked him if he had serial numbers when I was talking to him on the phone and he said no but someone had told him they were on the frame somewhere. A lot of folks down here are the same way about Farmall Cubs, they aren't concerned with a lot of things that I ask about such as serial numbers, casting numbers and the like. They just want it to crank and run when they need it. Even had a long time tractor dealer, Kubota now, that gets in a Cub every now and then and asked him on the phone the last time he had a Cub what year it was, and he replied it doesn't matter, they're all alike. So that's what we have here.
I will call the guy back and go have a look see and see what he has and let you know. Pete

Gilles, don't know where the UPDATE NO. 2 went, anyway, made the trip down in the country today, and I do mean in the country. What I found was sickening, but not surprising. I don't believe either of the 6 Cadets had ever spent much, if any, time under a shed. They were still sitting outside in various states of disrepair, missing parts, different degrees of rust, etc. I'm not sure if you could have taken all 6 and made one decent Cadet. Needless to say, no need to worry about Cub Express from GA to Canada. It was worth a look though, cause you just never know until you actually see them. Pete
