battery - 1220

Postby bandit86 » Sat Nov 03, 2007 9:47 pm

I know it's not a real cub, but I think need a new battery anyways. the one in it is a motorcycle battery, tiny compared to the actual battery tray. What sort of a battery do you usually use? I'm looking for a snow blower for it, might see lots of winter use if I find one

I use the biggest car battery that will fit in the battery tray. I find the small lawn tractor batteries last only about 1 year or less. Car batteries last much longer.

Being cheap I also use older car batteries - ones that are getting a bit weak. They will last a year or two in a Cadet.
I have an excuse. CRS.

I was using the cheap Wally world batteries($15) but the last time I was there they only had the $20 ones which have more cranking amps. I get2 years out of the cheap ones usually except for the one that was made or marked wrong(the + & - were reversed. The Cub worked on it ). I made them give me another one and the battery was out of warranty.
The Geezer from IHregistry.com which crashed and is now Cub Cadet Collectors.

Bigger battery plus go with bigger cables. Make sure the connections have an anti-oxidizing agent too to keep the corosion down too.
