Farmall Cubs Spotted in Iceland

I recently took a trip to Iceland, and the scenery was truly breathtaking! What was amazing to me is that I came across two Farmall Cubs!

I was in the city of Akureyrar, and just stepped off the the 4 x 4 minibus, when a beautiful Farmall Cub with a sickle mower mounted was standing right before me. It was right across the street from a well visited botanical garden. Although it was being used as yard art, it looked as if it would still run, with no major signs of catastrophic damage.

Later in the week, was in Hvammstangi, a small fishing village. I wandered around and saw a fully functional Farmall Cub right next to the road. A "museum" owned it, but still kept it in use.

It felt good to see the Icelandic people embraced the Farmall Cub too!

Hi Tom Z. Thanks for the great pics and sharing your trip with us. Yes they like a Farmall and I don't think they are being sarcastic about it. I was looking at other videos and saw very traditional ways. When I was young, I wondered why Greenland was so icy and Iceland was so green.

I just got back from Iceland. I saw the one in your picture in Akureyri. I also found another one in Akureyri and yet another at Laufas near Grenivik.

It looks like the Cub was pretty popular there! I hope you enjoyed your trip as much as I enjoyed mine. Just incredible scenery there!

There's an interesting detective series on Netflix (subtitled) that is from Iceland, called LAVA FIELDS. Stark scenery. Hope you guys had a good trip!
