Starting to get a few seeds in the mail! Some of the varieties were old stand-by types. We might get a few regular seeds locally, but most from the internet sellers.
Will be starting a few seeds indoors the end of Feb. this year. thanks; sonny

What, exactly, is a ground cherry?

Search the internet for ground cherries. You will get a lot of hits.

Hoping ground cherries grow well in this area. Will harvest and freeze them. Give to daughter to make jam and jellies. Probably eat a few myself.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Still haven’t been able to plow our 2018 garden and it don’t look like it’ll happen anytime soon. At least it’s not freezing.

Our ground has a lot of clay, and it dries faster if in furrows, so mine normally gets plowed as soon as last crops come out in fall, and again as soon as dry enough in spring. Last fall however, it was too wet, and wondering about spring right now. n we get our seeds and plants at local feed store. We had too many bad batches with the mail order companies. As to next year I will tell you what plans are as soon as I find my garden. This has just started.

WOW Shane! Those temps look fabulous! I got up this morning and had to push another 4" of snow out of the way before going to work.

Onion plants coming Tuesday!---They won't get planted this year on the day they come!! Mud and frozen ground here yet, so plants will have to be stored till weather gets dry!

There is a U-Pick farm near us and they have been posting as they plant the different crops. Last week they put out 150,000 tomato plants. I usually wait until they plant because I figure they can’t afford to replant because of frost.

Ya!, looks that way! Well we had over 2 inches of rain so far , along with snow! more forecast for next week, down to 19 degrees here in the gardens this morning! ---Not looking good for the onion plants this year! Not sure how much longer I can store them.----could be another late, cold, wet year! Last year we snuck them in the day they arrived, then the weather turned bad for a long time. Time will tell! thanks; sonny

Garlic I planted last fall is up and doing nicely.

Seed ordered garlic was planted 5 days ago, just before the rains. Planted (mudded in) 3 garlic bulbs that sprouted on the kitchen counter this morning.

Planning on picking up some hard neck garlic from MidMo, Ron Baker, and transplanting them.

General idea is to grow this springs planting, elephant garlic, and MidMo's as biennal garlic.
I have an excuse. CRS.
