From time to time we had a gift goat or two on the farm.

Just checked the asking price of live goats on the local Craigslist. Also check the price of goat meat.

Goat meat is good---- A neighbor of ours used to raise and butcher them for meat. He didnt have much room so couldnt have cattle or hogs and hated sheep, so raised goats!
The meat is about like deer meat, not bad at all.
