Drought 2016

Postby Timber cub » Thu Nov 03, 2016 5:06 am

I have never seen the brook so low here in western Ma. For the first time we had to pump water in the summer for the cows in Ct. The pond dried up! I heard in Tennessee the creeks are running dry and pastures are low on grass. We had to build one less bridge on our job because stream dried up which was a small bonus. Looking at the forecast for the northeast and east Tennessee it doesn't look to good. Yikes

We're SE New Hampshire, driving by lakes where the docks don't come close to the water line. Praying for a good snow season! You know, gotta get the snowmobiles out too ;)
If it don't go, chrome it.

Yesterday we (Mobile, AL) set a new record for the most consecutive days without rain-42. The old record was set in 1874. Interestingly it was the exact same days--Sep 27-Nov 7. This may not seem like a long time to many of you but we normally get over 65" per year. Rain is forecast for today.

We have gotten some relief( 4" of snow),but stream is still low and my adopted dad was pumping water to the cows in CT. yesterday. The creek on the farm in Tennessee is real low and almost dry,but still supplying water for the cows. Hope all that need rain get it!

It's dry here as well in N.C.
