First Snow

Postby Bob McCarty » Fri Nov 18, 2016 10:05 am

Wednesday the high was 80*, yesterday the high was 39* with 2" of snow. I guess our Indian summer weather has ended. Time to drop the C-2 and mount the snow blade.

Similar story here. Wednesday reached 61, yesterday 55. Today's high in the low-mid 40s was hit at midnight, It has been going down since and is expected to reach 22 by tomorrow morning. A little light rain started last evening. It was raining when I left home this morning at 8:30. On my way back, it changed to mixed rain/snow about a dozen miles away. By the time I got home around 10:30, it had changed to snow and I had about an inch of packed slush on the front of the car. Now, another hour or so later, everything is white outside. We expect 3-5 inches by the time it ends this evening. Saturday's high/low are predicted at 31/14.

62 today and played golf in a t shirt. 60 tomorrow then in the 30's all next week. 6 to 12 inches of lake effect Sunday night to Monday night. I just hope it all goes away.

Yesterday neighbor was blowing leaves in shirtsleeves and shorts. I put the blade on the cub and the blower on the cadet. Snow predicted. Currently only rain but........ Hey! It is time for snow. It is called change of season. No more lawn to mow. Traded that for drive to clear. Furnace instead of AC. Skiing (not me) instead of water skiing, snowmobile instead of personal watercraft. For those of you in a boring weather area come on up. Save your typing fingers. I know more go the other way. Me? No. Vern

I pulled the mower deck today and put on the snow plow. It's currently snowing pretty hard on and off again here in SE Michigan, but no accumulation. Since I had the plow on, I went ahead and graded the gravel portion of the driveway before it freezes for good.

we have 2-4'' on the ground here ,but it is like wet concrete.
didn't bother messing with the blower and the 185 [warming up and rain anyways]

we did get caught in that mess in Mn. wile on a doctors appointment, ended up with 12'' of snow.
had a blast with the jeep wrangler trying to find any open business in town :D
