Generator... again.
Loboy 185. Cannot for the life off me get the pulley nut off... having a hell of a time holding the pulley and shaft to turn the nut? I've got it soaking in some penetrating oil now, not real rusty but not much of a choice. Gonna throw some heat on it next... what's most people's way of getting the nut off the pulley?

I tried my rubber strap filter wrench but I couldn't find a socket for my impact.

For what it is worth, I just did mine and it was a bear. It was 15/16" and I did use an impact. Getting the nut off was easy. The woodruf key was the problem. After a couple of days soaking in PB Blaster, I took a copper hammer and smacked the end of the shaft. It then came off pretty easy.
I love my Milwaukee 18V Fuel impact for jobs like this one.

Heat half the diameter of the nut then impact it.
