To mount or dismount my 3260 mower deck, just turn the front wheels tight in one direction, then slide the deck out. I get wife to help me slide the mower deck out from under the tractor.
I have an excuse. CRS.

I jack up one rear wheel and slide the 3160 mower out to the side. The trailing arms that bolt to the tractor are the problem when trying to get it out. Of course, you could always unbolt the arms from the deck but that takes a lot of time too.

I also drag mine out the side. The mower deck is strong enough to drive over, but it is so tall that it is difficult to get the tractor to climb over it.

Drove over mine to mount it last weekend. Just need some scrap wood to cut some 'ramps' to go up and down both the deck and the pulley covers. Will also need to wedge something under the deck to keep it from sliding away from you.

If driving over, make sure that you have all the guards in place. (don't drive over the spindles)

That ramp thing sounds worth trying. I'm looking for an easier way also.

Currently I use a heavy duty swing set style A frame and lift the whole rear axle by the drawbar. A couple of 2x2 wood wedges between the frame and front axle keeps everything level. Unfortunately I have to do this on gravel, so a piece of plywood under the casters helps with the rollout. Still lots of work, that sucker is heavy!
Some of my ancestors mighta hanged by their necks, but none of them ever hanged by their tails.

I park my tractor on concrete. Use a floor jack (with wheels) under the grass chute side of the mower and a furniture dolly on the other side.

Disconnect the mower from the lift frame, remove the belt, then start the tractor and lift the hydraulic lift to move the lift frame out of the way. Shut off tractor.
Slide (wrestle) the mower deck out from under the tractor.
Then remove the lift frame from the tractor. Sit down under a tree and pant with a tall glass of ice tea.

I have a 3260 like Eugene's . We probably both have the linkages off the rock shaft to keep things parallel with the longer arms.Perfect size pins and washers and clips, where it makes sense . The deck can slide fair inches until some arm grabs it, then suspend or release. These only have a front roller, so there is a lot of room to deal with it. Placed on cardboard of sunny side down, it will slide. Most cases to work on the deck. That same cardboard attached to the side, however you maneuver that deck around to work on it.
