Attachment Bushings
Hello all.
I am in the process of restoring the model 54 Blade on my 154 Lo Boy. Could anyone tell me where you have purchased 1/2" bushings used on attachments? Most of mine are gone and I'd like to put some back where they belong.
Thanks!

Re: Attachment Bushings
Measure up the bushing outside diameter, the hole diameter in the bar. Stop by your nearest tractor dealership. Tell them the ID, OD, and length of the bushing. Good chance they will have something that fits in stock.
I have an excuse. CRS.

The parts manual shows I need

BTW. I've been to ACE, Kubota and Home Depot with no luck so far.
Thanks.

I should have said tractor dealership that was made in the USA to standard, not metric specs.Ojgrsoi wrote:The parts manual shows I need 6 EA - 474 061 R2. BTW. I've been to ACE, Kubota and Home Depot with no luck so far.
If you have a New Holland dealership near by, try them with the IH part number.

Re: Attachment Bushings
I think this is stepped bushing with a groove behind it for a lock ring. They all wear in different places the holes of the bore of linkage has worn too. Custom machining but when we get down to what land we are dealing with, it is constantly irregular. Best to have a bushing that is replaceable. It doesn't wear the steel.

Good, accurate measurements of the existing bushings will facilitate finding acceptable substitutes.

Re: Attachment Bushings
I haven't been looking for any lately, but I have often found what I needed at the Big Box stores. If they didn't have them, McMaster-Carr usually did. Often, you can find the right ID and OD but have to cut them to length. Unless it is a hardened bushing that is easy. The tractor dealers often have hardened bushings for 3-point category adapters. You don't really want them for most bushing applications.

Re: Attachment Bushings
These pivot bushings are available from JOHN DEERE. They are called a spacer. The parts guy said there are over 300 applications for this part on various JD machines.
The JD part number is M40509.
I welcome any finders of this bushing at a big box or farm store to post their results. I've visited quite a few with no success. (LOWES, HOME DEPOT GIBSONS, ACE, ORSCHELN, TRACTOR SUPPLY, KUBOTA, OUTDOOR POWER EQUIPMENT DEALER & Hamiltonbobs) Just happened to stop at JD along my way today. My hope is that we can find a less expensive source than JD.

Most likely the same bushing was used by other tractor equipment manufacturers.Ojgrsoi wrote:These pivot bushings are available from JOHN DEERE. They are called a spacer. The parts guy said there are over 300 applications for this part on various JD machines.
Most big box stores specialize in supplies for home owners and contractors. They wouldn't normally carry parts for agricultural equipment. Even the one with names like Orscheln and Tractor Supply carry few to no tractor or agricultural implements parts.I welcome any finders of this bushing at a big box or farm store to post their results. Story time. I looked all over for a pair of bushings for my IH pull behind brush type mower. Even tried the shops specializing in construction and construction equipment. Finally purchased some brass bushing that would work and put the mower to use. Couple weeks later I stopped by the local New Holland dealership. In the display area was a bin full of the correct bushings.
