The parts manual also shows two bushings on the long lift bar (depicted as #10 & #11). Quantity 4 required of 493 714 R1

The rusty bushing on the left is an original. The one next to it is the replacement bushing I found that fits most pivot points on my blade and mower (1/2" ID, 5/8" OD and 1/2" long).
The tall bushing came with a box of bolts from the previous owner. I found that these were 1/2" ID and 9/16" OD. It is the right diameter for the long pivot arm. I marked and cut them in half as they were way too long. That worked out well.
Although the manual mentions periodically squirting a little oil on the pivot points I chose to lube them with a little grease from my grease gun.

You can see how they fit on the front and rear of the long arm.


Rained out yesterday afternoon.

Looks to me like your HOA has a lot of work to do with the neighbors as well. Seems like some others left trash at the curb and vehicles in the driveway. I think I know where I'd leave my pile of snow this year. Pushed right up against their front door.

I would comply. Move the tractor two inches and cover with a tarp. Then let them complain again. You moved the tractor and it's out of sight.

Mean time, read the association's by laws. Then go past ever member of the HOA board 10 minutes after the time garbage cans are to be removed from the street. Tape measure and measure the height of their grass. And anything else in the by laws that offends.

Next full association meeting, list all of the offences committed by board members.

The HOA is just being spiteful and flexing their muscles. This is so silly because "tractor people" will tell you the 154 is nothing but a glorified "lawn mower" . Who cuts the grass at all these separate homes? The 154 excels at that and it can push snow too.
Ojgrsoi's 154 is clean and nice. Wait till it has chains and weights during a blizzard. Lets see the folks breaking their backs with snow shovels complaining about that .

The separate subject is those longer half cut bushings. First; the OD isn't the same as the shorter bushings and there is a reason for them. These are sleeve bushings which fit inside a larger. The idea is ; either the bolt that passes through the center has a drilled hole with a zerk or the outer one has a fitting. So one fitting allows the grease to pass to both sides of the bushing which is actually a bearing.
The pics show that these don't fit right for the application and will wallow out or "fret" the original support holes.

There are no grease zerks or fittings in this area. It appears to me like these are used so that a bolt can be used without tightening the joint as the bolt and nut is tightened against the bushing. This also keeps the threads of the bolt from wallowing out the insides of the holes.
The length does not have to be exact. It must be greater than the two mating surfaces by a bit and shorter than the bolt with the nut installed. Probably best to use a locknut (nylon insert) for this application.

Okay.I can see that but it is already too long and thin. There is no reason to crush or cut them before knowing where they fit. There is still time for the right size.

I put the 5/8" bushings in the 5/8" pivot holes and the smaller ones in the smaller holes on the long bar pivot points. The photos show the length before I cut them. Once cut on the black line they fit great and work exactly as OUTDOORS4EVR described.

I have always lived around HOA's and most do a great job of not letting things turn into shabby-sheik. I figure the guy from the HOA is just doing his job. To me the funny part is that it sat for quite a while in the same spot with the mower deck. LOL

I'm glad those bushings worked good. Yeah, when the deck was on they figured it was a big lawn mower. With the blade attached , he's going to be grading lawns ! It's a bulldozer Well, I lived deep in the heart O Texas many years and when snowfall did accumulate, it was a different world- that you are prepared for.

Thank god where I live there’s more horses than people to complain. In the old neighborhood I plowed all there driveways when we had blizzard deep snows. No one complained about noise or equipment. Can’t we all just get along and help each other.

Didn’t the orginal bushings look like Tee bushings that had shoulders on them?

I don't know. I didn't have any originals except one from my mower. It would be great if someone with an original part could post a photo.
