Remove and Sand it flat.
Put a piece of sandpaper on a piece of glass. Rub the carb across the sandpaper until it is flat.

I ended up using a little gasket sealer on the air intake end. I let the sealer dry overnight and started the tractor yesterday. The tractor seemed to run better than previously.

In the event I run into an issue and need to take the carburetor apart again I will keep your suggestion in mind.

After doing some more research on this forum and doing some testing, I discovered the ignition coil was going bad on my 184 and it was not the carburetor after all. After replacing it with a new one, the tractor has never ran better in the time I have owned it! I did not experience any degradation in performance after 30 minutes of mowing like I was having towards the end of last season and this year. The engine was burning much cleaner and I could tell it has more power than previously.

Had you mentioned this earlier in the thread, you likely would have gotten a recommendation to replace the coil.
