184 originally painted yellow

Postby rednax » Thu Nov 12, 2020 10:46 am

While fixing a 184 I bought a few months ago, I noticed that in tight spaces and areas under the fenders there's some yellow. Where the air hose connects to the air filter it's yellow, suggesting it was painted after the hoses were installed. Also, the air hose and radiator hoses were painted red. Does anybody else have yellow on their 184? The last five numbers of the serial number are 44562.

Never seen a yellow 184. I have seen guys try to pass off repainted 185s and 154s as a 184. Does it have an electric PTO clutch?

I have some yellow on the gas tank under the fiberglass dash on my 184. I think the yellow is a primer.
The bottom picture of the seat frame doesn't look like a primer. This looks like a 154 replacement seat frame with a 3-point. Perhaps a 3-point was added to this tractor?
