I've been looking for cab for a while and had been keeping my eyes open for a good deal on a snow thrower. When this one popped up for sale, I decided to just go get it. It was about a 5 hour trip from central Ohio, into the thumb of Michigan and I'm still amazed at how bad the roads are in Michigan! The tractor itself is nothing to brag about, normal shape for its age, just a bare bones 154. I was able to drive it onto the tilt trailer, albeit it felt like it was running a bit rough to me. I also noticed the oil on the dipstick shows signs of water being in the oil, there are some milky streaks. I'll have to flush it and keep an eye on it, maybe its just condensation.

The PO told me they used it to plow, but also said they tested the snow thrower out and it worked. It came with chains, wheel spacers and a plow too.

In the cab is a diesel heater, it is one of the Chinese Diesel heaters you see on eBay all the time, I did turn it on and it fired right up last night. It cook the cab from 5 degrees Celsius to 21 pretty quickly last night on a test run. Not sure if I'll keep it or not, I do plan on sandblasting the cab, painting it and replacing its broken windows and gaskets.

It doesn't appear to be a Simms, the door reads SoftGard. As far as Celsius, well, the goofy thermostat seems to be stuck in Celsius. LOL I did do some night time mowing with it tonight, everything seems ok except there is a bit more whiny gear noise than my other ones.

Didn't know Delaware received that much snow to warrant a snowblower/cab combo?

Glad it's running alright (mowing) and you didn't notice any major hiccups. Planning to change all the fluids and do a major tune-up?

Just looked up the annual snowfall rate for Ohio. Columbus was at 27.5" and Mansfield was 48.8. Since Delaware falls between, I can see why you have a snowblower.

Best regards!

Yea, but much of our snow comes as small amounts, and many times melts before the next snow.

If I remember right, I never plowed our driveway at all for the 2019 / 2020 season.

And only about 2 times for the 2020 / 2021 snow season.

When we get snows up to about 2, maybe 3 inches, and have sun in the forecast, I will go out with a snow shovel and give the driveway a few stripes, to let the sun hit the concrete.

Once the sun hits the concrete, even on a 25° day, it warms it enough to melt away the snow!

Without a lot of snow, this model of snowthrower basically just pukes the snow just barely to the side of the blower.
It won't fling it 5 feet away until you get about 4" of snow.

Really don't need the snow blower and normally single stage snow blowers do not work really well here because the snow is pretty wet half the time. I do use the plow a lot though and the cab will be a welcomed addition. The snow blower was really a want rather than a need. Doubt it will get used much, though a few times this past winter we had 8" of snow and I think I could of had some fun with it.

A tune up and fluid changes are next for sure!
