ATV incident

Postby danovercash » Sun Jan 24, 2016 2:35 pm

You have wonder what were they thinking. Two got busted on our street riding atv's on state road yesterday.

Action item
The North Carolina Troopers Association is offering a cash reward of $1,000 for information leading directly to the capture and arrest of the two suspects involved in the assault of Trooper Charubini, January 23, 2016 in Rowan County. The assault occurred at the corner of Mt. Moriah Ch. Rd and Harmony Ln. The Details of the assault are listed below. Please share with everyone you know so these two individuals will be forced to face justice.
This attack on a North Carolina State Trooper will not be tolerated. We will use every available resource at our disposal to bring these two individuals to justice. Anyone with information can call *HP and tell the tele-communicator that they have information on the assault of Trooper Charubini. You may also email info@nctroopers.org.
Details:
On 23 Jan at approximately 0200 Trooper Charubini was patrolling on NC 153 on the snow covered roadway. Two 4-wheelers passed him in a marked SHP car and traveled onto Mt. Moriah Ch. Rd, then onto Harmony Ln. Trooper Charubini followed them down the long drive to a house. While behind the 4-wheelers he hit his lights and siren to get them to stop. The 4-wheelers pulled passed a house and into the side field where Charubini thought the drivers must live. He exited his patrol car to warn the 4-wheeler drivers to stay off the highway. As he approached the 4-wheelers he heard them conversing back and forth when one of the riders turned the lights off and gunned it towered him. The 4-wheeler ran over top of Trooper Charubini breaking his lower leg and lacerating his chin, which required 3 stitches to close. After striking Charubini the 4-wheeler spun around and came back for a second attempt at running him over. As the 4-wheeler turned to come back at him again Trooper Charubini drew his weapon and fired three shots, none of which struck the driver. Both riders took off after the incident leaving Charubini to hobble back to his patrol car to call for help since his 800 radio was destroyed when he was struck. Charubini was transported to CMC Northeast in Concord to receive treatment, after which he was released.

Not yet! SHP was stopping all non-conforming vehicles after the incident. Some people go crazy with atv's when the snow falls, riding through yard and such. We have some that ride on some acreage all year long and we have to listen to them. Hope they are soon caught! Our Nephew is SHP in eastern part of NC. Can be followed on Facebook, WBTV channel 3 or Enochville Community Watch.
