What happened to Fall?

Postby Don McCombs » Tue Oct 16, 2018 6:36 am

Seems like it went straight from Summer to Winter here in Mountain Maryland. Leaves aren't turning color. Just falling off.

Today we dropped below freezing. The wind sure has a bite to it!

If you find where they've put your Fall, you'll probably find our Spring. We went straight from winter to summer here in Missouri.

Fortunately, we're having somewhat of a Fall season. Hope you find yours soon.

Had to scurry around last night to winterize the sprayer and the power washer.
Glad I had the RV done!

Same around here. One day you're sweating in a T shirt, next day it is flannel shirt and jacket. Check furnace soon because heating up an already cold house, takes a long time. Around here, further east, many people have cherry trees. They bloomed fine and very pretty for a few days before cold wind took most them away. Then it got hot again.

Ffw. Getting pretty cold these days. I charged up the batteries of sitting vehicles. Pulled a window AC unit out and it had a lot of "stink bug" beetles in it. See, they and the earwigs seek out some area of warmth. They are over and the window is tight.

We actually had a decent Autumn this year in west central MO. Most colorful urban trees did nicely; even the rural trees didn't do too bad. We had a snow/freeze just before Halloween, then another freeze a week later. That dropped a lot of leaves from green to ground. The up side was being able to use one of the warm days in between to blow and burn most of the leaves after they dropped.
