Classic Tractor Fever.... fever?

Postby dgrapes59 » Wed Mar 31, 2021 8:40 pm

I enjoy watching Classic Tractor Fever, even with some of the inaccurate information I noticed from time to time. The recent episode was from the Keystone Truck and Tractor Museum in Virginia, WOW, what a great collection!
At the end, when they feature viewer submissions, I thought, neat! A Cub...1955?? Guessing the editors were running a fever that day

Yep, surely not a 55.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

I'm sure they only used the information that the owner gave them.

Come on guys...... In defence for the claim, it is possible that someone changed some parts over the life of this tractor...... Right? :)

I think that, if it was as easily done as with a tractor, some of us humans in the 60 to 80 age bracket would like to change out a body part or two, or three, maybe four!!!

I assumed it was presented as it was submitted. I just kinda thought a little review for accuracy would be in order before it aired. Something I'd expect to see on Facebook. There's a pretty significant difference in the hood/grill, I'm no expert, but that was very obvious to me. Anyhow, it's a nice tractor and I won't stop watching, just saw a little humor in it.

Without a complete examination be the Farmall Correct Police, we will never know! :)

But, yea looks like a first generation Cub from this angle!

Matt Kirsch wrote:Oh probably, but it's not difficult to describe:

1947-1954 = mesh grille
1955-1956 = "11-bar" grill painted red
1957-1958 = "11-bar" grill painted white
1959-1963 = "4-bar" grill painted white
1964-1979 = square nose, expanded metal grill

The grilles tended to be styled to resemble the larger tractors being made at the time.

It's kind of like when you go to a show. You're apt to see anything as far as what year the owner says it is. I'm sure they were just reading the description the owner gave them.

I like Classic Tractor Fever. The spots with Kurt Aumann are usually pretty interesting.

Shows like this don't exactly have the budget to verify viewer submissions. They trust what the viewer submits to them to be accurate, and if it isn't, it gives the armchair quarterbacks something to point and yell at.

It could be a 55 by the serial number.

We had a club member with a 1946 cub. No persuading him that it wasn't, even showing him the serial number lists.
