Technology and Paper Work

Postby Eugene » Thu Sep 09, 2021 7:44 pm

Technology.

Dentist yesterday for cleaning and check up. X-ray was held in the tech's hand, no lead vest and tech hiding behind the lead lined wall. Tech also cleaned my teeth with a wand, thinking ultrasonic and small water jet. No picking and grinding away.

Eye doctor for annual check up. Tech asked a couple of questions, put my glasses in a machine to read the perscription. Then I looked into another machine while it checked my eye balls for a new perscription. 3rd machine with new perscription and one or two minor adjustments to get the picture in perfect focus.

The tech even took my photograph as part of her documentation. Then the MD, eye doctor, came in with another asistant. As the doc did the examination the assistant was making notes. Waiting at the check out desk, the MD and the assistant were both typing on their computers while discussing my case.

Paper work.

I, me single, purchased a tax lien on real estate. I sold the prperty last week. Had to have wife's name and signature on the sale paper work.

Son, not maried, and I, me alone, purchased a fixer upper last month. The actual trasnfer of the property title had to have my wife's name and signature.

We had the cash on hand to pay the entire purchase price but chose to borrow our own money for the purchase. The loan paper work is 37 pages long. Use to be I would borrow funds to purchase a fixer upper and the loan document was a single sheet of paper.

For an old guy who went to a one room country school, had no electricity on the farm, with an out house, and hand pump at the well - - thing are changing fast.
I have an excuse. CRS.

In some states apparently a spouse has a legal interest in any real estate even if spouse has no skin in the game. When my mother passed (Ohio) my sisters and I needed to get our spouses to sign all the sale documents.

I suspect most of the documents on your loan were disclosures required by various governments informing you of your various rights.

During the loan paper work process the banker said that the bank has hired 7 people in the past couple of years just to accomplish the government required paper work.

A good part of the loan paper work stated that I had to maintain the property, and that I couldn't do anything to diminish the value of the property, and listed illegal activites that could not take place on the property.

We had electricity, bur no running water until we bought the farm next to the one we had been running when I was 14 . I went from that to being an electronics technician, with an entirely different life.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
