Gary Powers- U2 pilot

Postby Bob McCarty » Thu Jul 07, 2022 7:22 pm

I noticed that he's lecturing at the Air Force Museum on July 21st. I won't be there, but bet it will be very interesting.

I got to watch one do some takeoff & landings a bunch of years ago, then walk around it after a full stop. Amazing to watch it land on tandem landing gear... didn't look like fun!

I misread it too, thought this was going to have something to do with Gary running a U2 power unit!
