Mike, I got a rock in my left kidney somewhere trying to get out. You can have it - free. Just take it NOW!

Some painful and the kind of pain you don't ever forget   :!:

Mike:

My intentions were good. You know, gas prices being what they are I just couldn't afford the expense.

I was married on Fort Huachuca a while back - about 40 years ago - shortly after the US Army intelligence school moved to there. The first time I was in Sierra Vista the main street was two lanes wide and about 6 block long. The second time I was stationed at Fort Huachuca I couldn't believe the change in Sierra Vista. The third time Sierra Vista looked like a small metropolitan area.

Good looking wall. I'm saving rocks for you if you want to pick them up.

That's OK Eugene :D , but you know that mortar is a beautiful thing and a joy to mix. I always mix by hand in a wheel barrow...(15 sand, 4 portland).. Think its easier than loading and unloading a mixer.

Fort Huachuca will actually grow more in the future. Its still comm. headquarters, and now is also the only UAV training center in the US. Sierra Vista is a good size town now..big enough but not too big. We are S. of there in the Huachuca Mt.

Hope you left some weep holes in that beautiful mortared wall. I always thought of Arizona as mostly desert. Is it always that beautiful green by you? Is it the result of an exceptionally rainy year?

No weep hole beacon, this wall is next to a road that will carry water away and down the hill. Outside the wall will be road shoulder about 12" higher than the road. Still making progress :)

I agree with Rudi, WOW That is some view Mike. I know where Cubfest West should be....just have to be a couple of years from now so I can save enough money for gas!!!
I bought an old tractor all dusty and worn,
knew nothing about her just the year she was born
I washed her and greased her and painted her red
Now she lives happily right here in my shed.

Looking better all the time Mike. Is that a Jan 2006 picture? Still some green in the grass. Has your area dried out? Do you have to remove the grass to cut back on fire hazard? There are times mowing and raking aren't just for feed.

speaking of those small rocks a older buddy of mine at work passes kidney stones all the time :x I feel for him you can tell when it happens he walks out of the bathroom sweating with his "kit" to collect the stones for his doc. Hes a funny guy though he took a inner ring that we use on our spindle bearings shined it up and sanded down to fit his ring finger and glued his stones to it. Biggest one in the center like a large diamond and small ones on both sides of it. Definately gross but pretty funny  (we sometimes have way too much free time on our hands at work)
