While Barnyard was investigating the costs of bringing the donated scooter into operating order, he determined that it would be about $300 for replacement batteries. Also, the footrests and any other parts were no longer available, due to the age of the unit. Anything done to add footrests would have to be custom made. While learning all of this, he happened upon an ad for a different, newer scooter, with fewer issues, located very near to him. The price was very near to what it would cost to get the original scooter running and usable. After discussions with Darrell and me, we decided to purchase the newer scooter with your donated funds. With a little cosmetic cleanup, it was ready to roll. Bill will find a suitable place to re-donate the scooter that Darrell and Janet generously provided.
Barnyard delivered the scooter to Ralph today. He will be along later with some video and maybe some photos.
I want to, again, thank everyone for their over-the-top generosity during this effort. I especially want to thank Barnyard for picking up the ball on the scooter acquisition and running with it to the goal line.

Thanks Bill, Don, Darrell and Janet. I'm sure Ralph will appreciate having it.

Re: Thank You For Helping Ralph and Connie!
I had a great time visiting Ralph and Connie today. Ralph looked great. He said the doctor's told him he would never move his left arm or leg again. Today he showed me he can indeed raise his left leg about 6 or 8 inches off the bed. He said he is now working on his arm and said he is determined to move it as well.
Connie said she will send me video when they get Ralph out with his new ride.

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.
