Stanton’s Medical Update 2/25/23

Postby Stanton » Sat Feb 25, 2023 10:11 am

Well folks, there won’t be any more CubFests for me. My pancreatic cancer is back. After a couple hospital stays, surgery, and seeking wellness, Robyn and I decided to put me under hospice care. Will be discharged today to go home once the med equipment arrives. Don’t know how long I have, but it won’t be easy. I do look forward to seeing my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Let me say what a privilege it’s been to get know some of you in person or just through the Forum.

Thank you Dennis for maintaining this Forum. It’s been my main social outlet since 2009.

Thank you Mike, Johnny, and Art (NEOK CubFest).

Thank you Bob and Ike (Kansas CubFest).

Thank you Ron (Mid-MO CubFest).

These were the main three CubFests I attended and appreciated the friendships made!!

Haven’t decided whether to sell or donate my tractors to the IHCC via National auction at some point.

Don’t know how much I will be on here after this, but sure have enjoyed the knowledge and friendship along the way.

May the Lord bless each of you!

No, this cannot be true. I’m devastated by this news. I will never give up and continue to pray for your miracle.

I don't know what to say, Stanton. My heart breaks for what you and Robyn going through. You've been an exceptional contributor to this forum and I friend that I never got the chance to meet in person. My prayers have been with you all along this journey asking for healing. But our ways are not God's ways and His plans take precedent over our wishes. I'm glad you have a great faith in Jesus Christ and I can only image the next adventure in store for you when He calls you home. You will continue to be in my prayers, my friend. Thank you to what you've contributed to my life an others here.

Stanton, It's been my honor to know you both from the forum and the Cubfests we were both at. Your posts and innovative ways to redo/remake parts were always an inspiration to me. I know your faith will help carry you on this journey and hope that the transition is comfortable and pain free. Happy Trails.

Stanton, it has been a pleasure to follow your posts on the forum and get to know your skills and dedication to solving mechanical/fabrication challenges. More important has been your faith in Jesus Christ. May your continuing journey on this earth be peaceful and pain free.

Stanton,

This is certainly not the news one wants to hear. Having been through this with my wife a few years ago, I do totally understand your decision. I pray that His peace will be with you, Robyn, and your family as you go through this journey. Visiting with you at Cubfests was always a pleasure.

Stanton, you have done so much for this forum and its members, I don’t know where to start. You have been a great influence on so many members of this group. Your welcome posts to newbies, I’m sure, encouraged many of them to stick around. Your How-to’s with appropriate photos, showed many folks how to do something they may not have thought they could do. I have bought a tractor and a manure spreader from you. You even brought the spreader to a parking lot closer to the expressway so there was a solid place to load in the rain. You were very fair in your dealings with me. It was the same fairness I know you shared with anyone you dealt with. You wrote an excellent article in Red Power Magazine detailing CubFests. Without a doubt, that article led many readers to the Cub world. Your work as a forum moderator helped keep these pages in order and on the right track.

It was my pleasure to meet you in person the few times that we met. Please know that Rosanne and I will have you and Robyn in our thoughts and prayers as you make this difficult journey.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Stanton, I'm sorry that our paths never crossed except on this forum. I cannot add anything to the posts of others except to say that you made the most important decision when you accepted Jesus as your Lord, however long ago that may have been. Most assuredly He will continue to be with you and those you love as you complete the transition to a better day in a better place. May He continue to give you strength and peace for the journey. Stanton,
Ricky is spot on with his comments.
So sorry to hear your health has taken this turn. There is so much in this life that we seek to enjoy and feel cheated when we are unable to do so. Your eternity is secure, press on, finish the race, your prize awaits you.

Stanton, I am so saddened by this news, as I so appreciate the help you have provided me on this forum with examples of how to do tasks I did not know how to do. Having supported close family members with similar diagnosis I also lift up your path before our Lord. And yet with grief as we long to be at home in this earthly tent, I know you have set your heart on things above, and for that I am eternally very happy! (2 Cor 5 and Col 3)

Stanton,
So sorry to hear this, I'm overwhelmed with thoughts and prayers for you and your family. We only met once in person, at the 2019 Mid-Mo Cubfest, and I really enjoyed that meeting. I only been on this forum since May 2017, but I have enjoyed your posts and comments here.
