46 Years and it's back on my finger.

Postby Dennis » Mon Jan 26, 2015 8:16 pm

Approximately 46 years ago I lost my treasured class ring. Today, a wonderful lady contacted me and said that a church friend had found it and asked her if she could locate the owner. She happens to be a graduate of my school (three years later) and was working in the nurses office. A quick look at the yearbooks, a phone call and she located me.

When I lost it (left on a sink at school after washing my hands) I never, ever, thought I see it again in my lifetime. I'm as happy as I was the first day I got it.

Never give up on humanity.

What a wonderful coincidence that it would ever show up. That is great!
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Neat turn of events. Now -- wonder who was holding on to it all these years, or took it in the first place? If that ring could only talk.

That was a great year to graduate. Glad you have it back. Lost mine in a house fire.

Even though our schools were rivals (Fort Osage vs. William Chrisman), I'm glad your ring was returned to you. Wear it with pride! :)

Hmm, let's see, found after 46 years, in excellent condition, returned anonymously by way of a church. There wouldn't be anyone cleaning out the personal effects of a deceased class member would there?

I had a lot of questions, but I did not ask. I was just happy to have it returned after its long journey.

I'm a bit late to the party but I felt compelled to comment. That's pretty cool you it back after all that time. I had a high school ring that looked very much like that, blue stone and even the same year, definitely not the same school. I lost mine in 1969 and it's at the bottom of the Ohio River somewhere around Marietta, probably under several feet of silt by now. It would be nice to get it back. Maybe it got dredged up, I'll probably never know.
