Purple Power Degreaser
I bought a 2 gallon jug of Purple Power degreaser at Blain's Farm & Fleet to clean up my tractors. I applied it with a pump sprayer and used my 2500 psi pressure washer to clean them up. It worked really good on the old caked on grease. It also attacked the paint on the hood of my 1948 Cub, leaving it a dull red when it used to be glossy. So be careful using products like this!

Yes, Purple Power is a good degreaser, but hard on finished surfaces. Didn't see any info on their website about it being non-toxic (eco-friendly), but it did say it was non-flammable and non-abrasive. I've used it with success, but have opted for Super Clean for most degreasing needs and Simple Green in my roaster pot for carbs.

I've used Purple Power for a while for degreasing tractors and Cub Cadets with good results. It does wonders for removing not only old oil and grease, but also mild surface rust on Cadet hoods and rims. I think the key is monitoring how long you let it work and rinsing it good when you've reached a desired point. I did learn how long, is too long, on a serial number plate, removing the black paint
I usually do the cleaning in my yard and had no issues with killing, or even distressing the grass. Could be the thorough rinsing.

Not wanting to re-paint my hood just yet, I put two coats of old school car wax on the hood. It restored the luster and color for now.

It will also leave bleached out spots on an asphalt driveway. Don't ask me how I know.
