Looking for information on a Grayson Tool Co. INC GT1300 threading tool. The handle end is stamped GT 1300, GRAYSON TOOL CO INC Hastings Nebraska USA. Several sizes ranging from 5/8 -18 to 1 1/4-12 SAE (fine threads). It looks to be a very old thread cleaner or re-threading tool and is about 16 inches long.

Hello from years ago. Your Grayson INC GT1300 threading tool sounds very interesting. We all probably have a few different automatic die heads for pipe. It was fascinating to understand how they worked (way before the net) . The dies cut out a path for the succeeding teeth and each chaser was shaped/ground in union with the actual thread pitch and pitch diameter. There is only a range where this works because the helix/ cutting angle changes with diameter. But there are newer expanding taps which I don't have a handle on yet.
