I am not a Facebook user. Don't have an account. We won't go into why. Anyway, given the previous, I was still able to view most Facebook pages. About a week ago, that came to an end. Nothing, nada. Many businesses now use Facebook as their website, rather than paying for a custom built one. Would seem to me that the loss of non-Facebook user contacts is going to hurt these businesses big time. Is anyone else having this problem?

Re: Facebook
I just tried a random business's page while not logged it. It puts this "log in or create account" thing across the bottom of the screen. Lets me look at the page with the upper part of the screen. The same on a smart phone. But there the thing on the bottom covers about a third of the screen. I don't know if it acts that way because I have an account and am not logged in. I don't think I ever logged in on the phone.

Re: Facebook
I get a similar message, but I can't see any of the underlying page.

Re: Facebook
May vary with which browser is being used or what cookies may be hanging around. (I'm using Edge on Windows and Chrome on Android.) If the browser matters, it reinforces your original comment about lost contacts.

Re: Facebook
I’m using Windows and Edge on the laptop, where I have the issue. Just tried the iPhone and everything is fine. I’ll try deleting cookies on the laptop.

Even if you are on Facebook, a lot of the time if you click on a external link that takes you to fb, they require a log in. Or that’s been my experience, and I’m on fb. There’s things I like about fb and things I detest. Marketplace could be so much better, but if I want to sell something, that’s usually where I have the most success. There are so many bots on there, it’s crazy. It’s about two to one bot responses(or more) on every ad I place.

Re: Facebook
I could care less about using Facebook. But, I feel bad for the small businesses, using Facebook as their website, who think they are reaching a wider audience than they apparently are.

Re: Facebook
Don, I'm getting the same thing with Twitter stuff on the ag school site. Used to open, but now wants sign in or sign up to Twitter. I could give a dog poop over most of what's on Twitter, but they have school pictures posted that I'd like to see. (I hate progress!)

Re: Facebook
I think both platforms are losing subscribers and, therefore revenue. Just tightening the screws to attempt to recapture the money. Never did do Twitter and Zuckerberg will never get me back.

Re: Facebook
They all are trying to FORCE you to sign up so they can plaster you with spam!!!!! LOL!!! I am on FB and its a joke on there! They stick ads where ads dont belong and try to trick you into buying. Also the scammers have all their ads on there and dont EVER fall for their stuff cause they take your money and NEVER send the item you paid for!
FB will fall due to its own stupidity! --- other pages of the same type will fall too when people get tired of losing money on them.
Craigslist lost to FB and others but is still the best way to sell/buy stuff.
