From Dennis Raney - Albie and George Willer can be credited with the idea and naming of the CubFests that we enjoy today. Albie held workshops at his residence and George wanted to see more of these and held the first "official" Cubfest at his home several years ago (I don't recall the exact year.)

Seeing pictures of Albie's workshops on the board is what got me interested in going to and having Cubfests. Many thanks for your influence Albie.

Albie:

When I first joined the two main forums that I haunted when I first got my Cubs.. you, George, BD, Jim, EJP and a few others provided a lot of the sage advice I needed to gain the confidence to actually purchase Ellie and then to get her running again. Because of the things you, George and BD accomplished at those early gatherings were the impetus for me to want to contribute in some way. So, I guess starting to host those manuals all those years ago is in part due to your generous and gracious offerings of advice and help to so many.

I kept reading about how much fun everyone was having at your workshops, and when George got the very first CubFest off the ground in 2003 and then planning the repeat in 2004, I was lamenting the fact that I would probably never get there. George really encouraged me to figure out a way to host my own CubFest and in the spring of 2004 that dream was realized.

This is again in part thanks to your generosity and willingness to share your experience with other Cub Nutz.

What a wonderful gift to our community and we will always be indebted to you and your idea :!:

I doubt that you had any inkling that those first get togethers would blossom into the 26 Cubfests that are scheduled this year. My thanks for starting something that has turned into a great hobby for me, and an opportunity to make new friends across the country (and Canada).

Albie, you started a wonderful thing. Cubfests are unique in respect to most tractor shows, they all focus on repairs instead of trailer queens. These strong roots have grown from your original Cub workshops. Thank you and hope to see you again at some Cubfests!

Carls eloquence sums it up pretty good. Have a good day Albie. :)

I've never met Albie, but he can't be all that bad for sure... he likes Cub Tractors and likes the Pittsburgh Steelers...what's not to like there!!

Albie, I have reaped the benefits of what you have started. Thanks for doing so!

What a wonderful thing it has become, no? Congrats on the feature, and thanks for getting this whole ball rolling. Someday soon I'd like to have a Southwest CubFest, so here's to you!

Congratulations and thanks Albie for all you have done for us cub forum members. The cubfests are a fantastic means of bringing the knowledge and skills of mature cubbers to those of us who are relative newcomers to the owners club. Thanks again. Dusty B
