Silo

Got a project that you are working on that is not a tractor? Maybe a barn to hold your tractors or just fun stuff like woodworking, glass, tools, sheds, gardens, custom implements, etc., this is the place to talk about it.

Silo

Has any one ever torn down a silo to move and reassemble at a different location . I found a small 25ft no top . I heard the Amish fill them with sand and drop one block at a time down

Probably not. It would take a lot of sand or saw dust to fill any size silo.

Youtube on silo assembly or disassembly.

Did help uncle drop a silo. Not many salavageable pieces when it toppled.
I have an excuse. CRS.

You don’t “fill” the silo. You put about a 3 foot layer around or inside the silo to cushion the impact when the piece lands, one at a time. Sawdust cushions better than sand.
