DSCF 2019 Project List
I haven't seen a thread on DSCF 2019 projects so I thought I would start one with my proposed project:
On my newly acquired 1949 Cub (to be delivered via cub express at DSCF) I would like to do the following:
Split - Rear seal (and clutch if needed)
Oil pan cleanout and new gasket.
Thanks
Ron Tyrie

I will have a transmission swap to do.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

I plan on a hydraulic block and pump rebuild. Both items will already be removed from Cub.

Don't even know where to look...already cleaned the 2 carbs I have for it, and no change.
PLEASE!Someone who knows these beasties must have the skills to help troubleshoot this.
Dale, I will just take that uncooperative Super A off your hands! I hate to see it causing you such frustration, and my farm could definitely benefit from a Super A - 140 size tractor....Just send along any implements as well, I'll ease your pain....!

Dale, count me in on your Super A troubleshooting team! Few things bring me more satisfaction as helping bring a tractor back to life.
Mr E - I have had a request to demonstrate techniques for repairing oil pan leaks such as brazing, silver soldering and mig. I'll bring the brazing and silver solder supplies as well as some sheet metal the same gauge as our pans with "pin holes" pre-drilled for hands on practice if that's OK with you.
Counting the days to DSCF

Well, dang, Rick! Glad you said something! I was about to take the Woods 59 belly mower off and load him onto my trailer for the trip south. I WAS planning to go I-95 to I-10, but will head via Atlanta instead, and drop that SA off at your place on my way!!!

If you aren't aware, there are 2 different rebuild kits, based on the style TC Block you have.
Here is a HOW TO for the early style:
http://farmallcub.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=89514
And here is the later style:
http://farmallcub.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=42857
It's pretty easy to tell which one you have, in addition to the checking the part number:
The early ones have 2 valves, in addition to the main piston and control valves, that are accessed from the front of the block. In the later block, they are accessed from the rear, behind the head.
Have plenty of HyTran, shop towels and I suggest a plain silverware tray from Walmart. I can bring one for you to use if you like. I have printouts of the 2 HOW TO's that I will bring as well...no need to get your computer all oily! I also have a couple special tools I will bring that you can use.

Actually, Dale, the wife and I have moved to the farm since retiring, which is only 20 miles off I-95!

How about I head on down to DSCF, get it running again, THEN drop it off on the way back...as a finely tuned RUNNING machine like it used to be!?!

Dale, I have the Walmart silverware tray and a few special tools. This is the older hydraulic block and I have the correct kit. Please bring your special tools in case I am missing any. I have rebuilt the newer style but this will be my first older one.

Re: DSCF 2019 Project List
Scratch my tranny swap. Due to unforeseen difficulties, Rosie and I will be unable to attend DSCF this year. I had everything staged and ready to load on the trailer the next warm day, but life changed. We will surely miss everyone and we hope you all have a great time.
