2019 Mid-Missouri CubFest Projects

Postby T-Mo » Sun Apr 28, 2019 8:21 am

First off, I'm really have plans to go this year, for the first time.

Secondly, how many are expecting to make it this year.

And lastly, I have a '50 Cub that me and John worked on last summer and I will be buying a governor control rod (it has some sort of rod on it now that isn't original). I would like to bring this Cub to CubFest and maybe make it one of the projects to add the "new" governor control rod and to maybe check the rpms on it.

Any other projects that may be coming also? I don't mind getting dirty and would like to learn more on these little tractors.

I'm planning on attending.

Would like to know what tools or equipment folks would like me to bring.

I have plasma cutter, plans and a templet for a Cub pulley puller. You will need to bring 3/4" plate steel at least 8" x 8" wide.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Dale. Let me rummage through my assortment of scrap metal. If I have any thick steel, I'll cut you out the plate. I'll mail it to you along with plans. You will have to drill and tap the holes.

Finding the metal will be the hard part.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Bring it. We'll work on it.

Sure hope you can make it. Would like to meet you. If you do decide to come, try to get the brake lining and rivets ordered from McMaster-Carr now so you'll have them when you come. See the How To Forum for list of materials (http://www.farmallcub.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=66324 and http://www.farmallcub.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=142&t=100136). Also, let me know so I can bring the rivet punch, clamps and forstner bits.

I thought I was going to make it, but I was overly optimistic. for the last month or more my right hip and knee have been hurting but only a little. A week and a half ago My primary care Dr. sent me for x-rays. He called me to come in Thursday when he got the results. Stated my hip is ok, but knee is in bad shape. Might be able to do injections, but will probably need replacement. I have evaluation appointment with orthopedic surgeon assistant this Wed. More info afterward, but the chances of my making it to MidMo or pretty small.

John: I have osteoarthritis, a bad right hip and knee.

December 2018, I received a cortisone shot under the knee cap. Results, so so.

Mid March 2019, I received an injection directly into the knee joint. Very good results. Took about 2 1/2 weeks for most of the pain to go away. Now just a minor ache.

Suggesting, be sure and talk to the surgeon's assistant about injections.
I have an excuse. CRS.

That is the plan for Wed. The pain had not been too bad until 2 or 3 days ago, now is so bad it is difficult getting around, or getting out of chair, etc. Real challenge getting off the ZTR this afternoon. Guess I should have left the bucket on the loader up a ways, tied a rope to the lift handle and left it running. Then when finished mowing drive up to bucket, grab old of the edge and pull rope with teeth so it lifts me out of seat.

John, sorry to hear about your knee. I was hoping you could make it to the event, but the main thing is to take care of your knee. If you need anything, let me know.

Sorry to hear about your knee John. Use the injection if replacement is necessary and there is much time before you can get it done. I didn't want to have it done in the summer so I had mine injected once so I could put off surgery, complete replacement. It helped me. Good luck with whatever you decide. Vern
