Due to the most resent travel restrictions in Illinois, we will not be coming to the fest. We will truly miss everyone, but just want to be cautious. Hope to see everyone soon.

Harlan, What restrictions do they have?

Bill, in Illinois our Governor doesn't want any unnecessary travel. Also there is no inside dining at all restaurants and bars. I just don't want to get trapped someplace and not be able to get gas or eat. I have been trying to cancel our reservations at the Traveler's Rest, but nobody answers the phone. I left a message but no response yet.

So far I have not seen any travel bans for any state. I would say, if that happens we should be given time to get home. I don't see any fuel problems either. We are still ready to leave in the morning.

We just drove through today. There was a lot of police in the area. Lot of places close.

What kind of places closed? restaurants? gas stations? Or is that in New Orleans.

Hey Folks!
We completely understand EVERYONE'S concerns. The restaurants, bars, casinos and such are closed...it's like everywhere else, drive through food ONLY...EVEN at the Subway inside our Walmart!! We are taking all precautions that we can to disinfect tables and chairs before hand AND during the Cubfest. Our gas ranges from $1.79 to $2.09.
The food is bought, we have PLENTY of toilet paper and paper towels (Plus a washer if we need to use cloth towels!!), and we are planning to have lots of fun and fellowship! So, IF you feel you should stay home, that's what you should do. BUT, YOU WILL BE MISSED!! We want everyone to come and be relaxed and not be concerned about being here!
If anyone has concerns, please don't hesitate to call either of us, if we don't know an answer, we'll make one up..NO REALLY...we'll find out as soon as we can and report back.
Our prayers are with everyone! Looking forward to seeing everyone,

As I said earlier, driving a distance can be a major concern, but I don't see an order shutting down highways and fuel should be plentiful. They would have to give a shut down date to give people enough time to get home. See you there.

I think when they are talking about "unnecessary travel", they are concerned more about flying or trains and such, with many folks in close proximity. I can't believe that they would not allow personal vehicles.

I deem farmall cub related travel necessary :tractor:

I am sorry to report that due to extenuating circumstances and other's concerns I've decided to cancel my plans to attend this year. I just have more to think about than myself. I hope everyone stays safe and well.
