The Barnyard Bash Is A Go

Postby Barnyard » Wed Jul 22, 2020 10:03 am

I talked to the county board of health inspector supervisor for our district of the county and told him what happens at a CubFest. He said felt it would be okay to have the Bash, but wanted to check with his supervisor. He came back on the phone and said his boss agreed with him as long as it is on private property in a rural part of the county and we maintained a six foot distance between tables when we eat. He also said we should limit individual groups to no more than ten people. That is all easily done. He said they have only received two complaints in rural areas. All other complaints have come from heavily populated areas. He also said if they get a call about private property they tell the complainant to call the police. We have county police here and the sheriff has said he was not sending his deputies out on these complaints since there is little they can do.

Now the nitty gritty. Our county requires masks to be worn in all PUBLIC buildings such as motels and restaurants etc. They are not required when outside (as of now). I will have hand sanitizer and masks for anybody who wants to use them.

The dates are August 6, 7, and 8. Some people start to arrive just after noon on the 6th. Campers are welcome as always.

If there are any questions, please let me know.

Since we usually buy enough food for eighty people, we certainly don't want to do that if the crowd is much smaller. Please let us know with a YES or No answer here so we can get a handle on how much food to get.

I realize the crowd will be down and respectfully understand anyone who feels they should not attend.

We hope to see many of you here.

Alas, although I certainly had planned to attend, I have decided to stay home. :(
It would have been so good to see everyone, plus I could have gotten a LOT of work done on these 2 new tractors of mine...front seal, steering leak, etc. Oh well, back to the lonely shop for me.

But have a great time everyone, and post some photos! :D

Very regretfully, Ms Connie and I will not be attending this year. I know it will be a lot of fun like always.

Just a note here in NY if you visit certain states, they have a hit list and Ohio is on it you have to go into quarantine for 2 weeks after going to a state on the list
here is a link with more info from the NY gov

This is true. I did ask a local business person about this because he has out of state connections. He was told the state had to prove you visited the affected state. I am not trying to sugar coat anything AND I do not want to let this post go political. Rosie and I want everyone to use their personal judgement

I just read this on our local news. Ohio Governor DeWine said the following yesterday.
DeWine also announced a new quarantine policy for people traveling to Ohio from the United States' worst-affected regions: Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Mississippi, Nevada, South Carolina and Texas.

Anyone entering Ohio from those states must self-quarantine for 14 days upon arrival, regardless of whether they are an Ohio resident or a visitor.

This might play a role in your decision. We will not force you to stay.

Concerning the quarantine from southern states, I went to the Ohio State FAQ page. This is what is there. Apparently there will not be traffic stops to determine your destination. The governor has said this is only a recommendation. The state does not know if you are stopping in the state or simply passing through to get to another state.

With all that said, We are encouraging everyone to do what they feel is best.

The guest list is at 20 folks so far. It sounds encouraging.
