An Early Christmas Gift

Green On The Ground :!:

Well, I guess I now own one...a green one...well, it's rust-colored now.
It's a 1946 John Deere B, complete, motor is not stuck, but low compression. I saved it from salvage. A good friend gave it to me; I hope we are still friends once I dive in to it.

No seat, no steering wheel, looks like your friend lost his behind and didn’t know which way to turn

Good luck with getting it going, you’ll need a lot of green. I grew up on green tractors, nothing like the sound of a two cylinder John Deere.

Very cool!! You'll find parts very easy to find and not nearly as expensive as they say. The first John Deere B that I had, had nearly 3/8" of ring end gap and ran good but smoked a bit. They are easy tractors to work on as well.

Congratulations! I'm glad you saved it from the junker.

"Merry Christmas to you" is in order then. :coffee:

I have several parts missing in the photo on-site; hood, front grilles, lower water pipe, carburetor, steering wheel, starter, etal. I am going to have some help on this one. We are going to try to start it and see what I have before I put time and money in it. Two cubs are in line before this B.

Be sure to keep us posted. Like most people here, I like all colors and brands of farm machinery. The only thing I have a problem with is the owners that think theirs is better than anyone else's.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
