picked this up the other day with a Cimarron 4ft brush hog. cleaned it up a bit, it was running great when I bought it. seems to be one powerful beast. Some site claim its only a 14hp. I tend to believe the sites that say 18/20 HP. it is a 3 cylinder diesel. Hinomoto can trace its roots back to 1863 and a plow design, the first tractors were made in 1959, they won an award for the Japanese prime minister for excellence. They have made White, Allis Chalmers, Deutz-Allis, and Massey Ferguson tractors. Toyosho is the maker, bought by Hitachi in 1990 and the name was changed to tiera? something like that, but a wide line of hinomoto models are in service ( and filling boneyards) all over the world. this one was too cheap to pass on and has already done a ton of work. I have WIX numbers for air cleaner and oil filter, need to find the hydro filter and she will be drinking fresh oil and breathing clean air.
better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it...( YES this includes CUBS! )

Nice. I heard of them, but I haven't ran across one in person.

Re: Hinomoto C-144
The site I trust most states it is a 20 HP. I have a similar Kubota that we mow the acreage with, it's only rated at 17, but these are strong little beasts. And 4 wheel drive to boot! Great if you have some muddy or boggy conditions like I do.

Re: Hinomoto C-144
the hinomoto has been a very good tractor, I have brush hogged with the 4ft hog it came with, pulled trailers, york rake. if starts every time, it has power to spare.
