Just picked up a Honda HRC 7013 walk behind 48” mower. Not too bad of shape. Needs tires, choke and throttle cable. Who knows how long it’s been since last run. I did get it to start on either, so I’m sure it will run. I’m worried about the hydrostatic because you can push and move it. I’m hoping when I get the motor running, it’ll charge and build up hydraulic pressure.
Anyway does anyone have any information or knowledge of this mower?

Thanks
John

Have you checked if the hydrostat is unlocked? Every hydrostat I have ever seen had a way to unlock them to allow freewheeling. The most common way is a rod coming out the back.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Yes the hydrostatic was unlocked. I closed the valves and the wheels locked like they should

All three spindles were locked up. I got them free, but the bearings sound dry, of course there are no grease fittings so I’ll take them apart and put new bearings in and add a grease fitting.

Before you take them apart, do a search by either model number of the mower. or part number for the spindle. You may find the entire spindles not much higher than just the bearings. I have found that on more than one occasion. Once you find the part number, do a search on Amazon. Many sellers list them cheaper there than on their own sites.

Closest I can find, the shaft is 3/4” shorter , that is where the drive pulley goes.
I drilled the housings and spayed on blaster and got them free then added grease fittings.
