YANMAR 1500 (TR15) and 42 inch BUSH HOG Squealer SQ42S-2. Been looking for this match-up for quite some time. Got the tractor about 8 years ago (about 350 hours on the tach and abandoned in a fencerow) and the mower this week (a case of being at the right place at the right time). Lubed all the zerks and the pto shaft and started to work with it, no observed problems or issues. :D :D

congrats! I love my cubs but I also love my lil Japanese diesel and the 4ft brush hog I got with it! My JD 790 has a yanmar engine, they are workhorses for sure.

better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it...( YES this includes CUBS! )

TKS INDY, just like the cubs, these little diesels have a niche to fill. I also have a mid-80's JD 850 (YANMAR BUILT 3 cyl. for deere), it's been my "go to" machine for anything that the cubs and CC's can't handle. I also brought it back from the scrapman a few years ago, and was surprised to learn that the crank goes into the block from the clutch end, (no main bearing caps!) Here's what the BH SQ42 can do. Not bad for a 15 hp tractor.

EDIT: Here's what the BH SQ42 looks like behind the 850.
