hydraulic fitting supplier?

Postby Charles (49) Mo » Wed Jan 09, 2008 12:53 pm

I'm looking for a supplier of Pioneer 4050-3 series fittings. Anyone who has done business with a good company?

Some suggestions.

The local NAPA dealer handles hydraulic hoses and fittings. This is where I get my hydraulic parts. They also have hydraulic parts books and can order items not stocked.

Valu-bilt.com has a large listing of hydraulic parts.

Any tractor dealership. Farm and ranch supply store. Industrial supply store.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Charles:

Just exctly which or what fittings are you looking for; male and female snap couplings? Pioneer fittings are very common. 4050-3, if I have this correct is the 3/8" body with 3/8" - 18 NPT.

Valu-bilt. The male and female snap couplings;
4050-3 female = C59-0020 $20.19
4050-3 male = F34-0158 $13.89

Call valu-bilt at 1-888-828-3276 and the guys in Indianola, Iowa will be more than happy to talk to you. Also, double check my parts numbers.

NAPA: The hydraulic fittings are not listed on line. I have to go into the store and talk to the really old old old guy behind the counter. If you live in urban St Louis they may not even have the catalogs (books). But they do here.

If you are not looking for male and or female snap couplings - the fittings are standard pipe threads - either brass or steel fittings available at hardware stores, etc.

Yep -- urban St. Louis where the counter guys at NAPA probably just left their job at McDonalds. I am looking for the snap fittings. 3/8'' or possible 1/2" -- just a little more info for those who might have a few ideas that might help me without breaking the bank.
The Cubs house is 75 miles away on the farm. A winding dirt bottom creek winds its way thru our woods. Large trees are constantly falling into the creek creating more erosion. The creek is almost 15 ft deep, with bottomless mud. Trying to log these out is too dangerous as the base is too high and steep. Anyway, I purchased 4 hydraulic cylinders 1/2x4x24 and want to parallel or series connect these so we can hydraulically pull them out. I have a spool of 1/2" cable that I don't want to cut, so I'm looking for ideas of how to clamp the cable (without deforming it) Thinking of some sort of wedge contraption. A compact Diesel Cub Cadet will furnish the hydraulic power.
Any and all ideas are appreciated... :idea: :idea: :) ,
