Planter

Postby beaconlight » Mon Sep 05, 2005 5:10 pm

I bought a planter off epay. It is a small hand planter. The seed hopper has a cast iron door on whic the name of the mfg is HUDSON MFG CO. mINNAPOLIS MINN USA. Of course it is rusty but the inside of the hopper still has cream colored paint. There is no handle. It looks as if the handle fitted to a u shaped yoke that fastened to both sides of the frame. Everything turns freely. there are brushes that move the seed to be planted. It appears as if you can adjust for seed size. If any one is familiar with these I can use all the insight I can get.
I also bought an anvil and some old lights.
I had hoped to bid on rear weights that he had but when I got home after church my DSL had died and we had to go to an ex neighbors 90th birthday party. So first things first and I missed out on the weights. Shame because I had planned to bid more than they went for.
I asked about front weights he had out. He said that they were sold but that he had another set. I bought them. I need the extra weight for the front when I widden the lowboy for the bank of the dam.
Last but not least he asked me to do him a favor and tade a small chisel disk he had. I really didn't need it because of the 4 gang disk I have. Well any way We loaded it on to the pick up. There is an adjusting lever for depth of the chisels. I guess I could use it as a drag after the 4 gang to more finely fit the ground. I need enlightenment on this too. So any wisdom you can supply will be greatly received.
