Sorry I have been away so long'

Postby John *.?-!.* cub owner » Sat May 13, 2023 9:39 pm

But I have spent a total of 42 days in the local hospital. I did have a break of one day, but after taking 3 falls I went right back. It is going to be a while before I can get back to my shed and get any thing done though. Might be able to mow yard using ZTR mower in a week or so.

John, it is great seeing you back on the forum. Take care of yourself, none of us are getting any younger.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

John, sorry I hadn't been in touch with you. Things have been a bit hectic lately. On a good note, May 31st is my last day of work so I should be able to keep in touch a bit more after that day.

Hoping the hospital stay has fixed what was wrong and you can get back to a more enjoyable life again. I'm sure you're glad to be home again.

Well, that's no way to spend your spring, John. I hope you're past all of that and you can get back to normal again. We've missed your wit and wisdom on here. Take care of yourself and get better soon.

Really, this has been my fault for letting my self get so bad. Joann and I celebrated our 50th anniversary June 24, We did nt tell anyone where we going, and just had a very enjoyable meal. Nov 6th she was dead. I thought she was showing signs of dementia, but it turns out that her sodium was getting extremely low. Among other things she had taken some falls I did not know how serious they were. Over the next 2 1/2 to 3 months Joann was in 2 nursing homes and 5 hospitals. I stayed in motels most of the time and lived on Lunchables and canned soup, but I spent every day sitting by her side and holding her hand. It hurt when I had to put her in comfort care rather than continuing treatments that would extend her life a little. She had a drug resistant strain of Ecolli in both her urine and blood. No idea of where it came from. All our family agreed on what was best for, but it hurt telling the Dr. To discontinue treatment other than just keeping comfortable.

By that time I had become so depressed I didn't do any thing to get my health back. `I went to a grief counselor, but kept on getting weaker, and after some unexplained falls, I agreed to go to the hospital. After 42 days in the hospital I have pretty well gotten over my depression, and now am working on getting my strength back. It is taking a long time though.

Sorry if this is rambling, but it is difficult to type it out.
