1951? Simplicity L-1 Walk Behind Tractor

I'm continuing to clean out my late father's stuff and brought this Simplicity L-1 Walk Behind Tractor home. It was my grandfather's since new. He bought it shortly after he returned from WWII and used it to plow snow among other things. It fired right up on the first pull and runs really good!

I have one I think mind is a 53. Doesn’t have the original motor. It was my uncles. Have breaking plow and a type of cultivator Have a military surplus yanmar 4.5 diesel on it
Broke my garden with it couple times
I know this was a old post but I new cub owner and saw this

I have several of these that were sold by Wards. They have a solid heave handlebar on them, I was told a long time ago that they were made for Simp. and Wards by Midland company. Mine all say Midland- M on the tag.
