Dressed up they old boy a little.

Postby clintmo » Mon Jul 01, 2019 12:28 pm

After decades laying on a shelf in the back of the building, I put back on the remaining emblems. Then I gave him the linseed oil treatment. Really made a big difference! I was surprised by how much red showed up with the oil.

Looks good. Maybe I'll get you to dress up mine next time you stop by. :D

By the way, your crank will go out in a day or two.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Hey Clint, That does look nicer than before. I have seen that done on other Cubs and other tractors. It is amazing how much color comes out. See you next year!

Hi,
The Cub looks good in your pic.

TM Tractor has new McCormick names for the hood, I don't know if you want any.
They go above the Farmall Cub names.

I'll start looking for a bulk source of linseed oil. Gonna need a few hundred gallons to get through your collection.

I've been pretty much keeping this one original and just replacing what I need to. Since I still had those emblems I put them on. Hopefully the McCormick ones will turn up, too. Otherwise I don't think I'll buy new ones. Maybe if I come across some imperfect old banged up dirty ones that match for cheap...

Anyone have a crop duster? Gotta go put a coat of linseed oil on Barnyards tractor collection.
(First he has to pull them out of the barn, this may take a few weeks)

That barn is long enough if you open a door on each end you could probably fly right through it. LOL

You may have to do a little acrobatic flying to get in and out. Hard bank right going in and hard bank right on the other end coming out. Depending on which direction you enter you may have to change directions in and out. It’s confusing. If you were in my mind you’d be confused too. LOL

Hang on a minute folks , let me buy stock in linseed oil before Barnyard tries to corner the market in order to treat the first quarter of his stock in Cubs.

Maybe a dip tank made from an above ground pool would be more economical than hand applying. Got to get that 1/4 of them done before winter.. Next year , too late to beat winter this year.
A large loader tractor to dunk with would be handy too.

I thought the understood rule was to never bring your cubs out at the same time and let your spouse count them!!!
